Don't those just look delicious. Well they ARE!! The kids have been pestering me to make rice Krispie treats with chocolate. So that's what we finally did!
Ingredients (rice krispies):
6 cups of rice krispies
1.5 - 2 oz. of sprinkles
6 tbsp butter
24 oz. mini marshmallows
Melt the butter and marshmallows together. Add the krispies and sprinkles in at the same time and mix well together. Using a 1/2 cup, scoop out the mixture onto wax paper to cool slightly. Once slightly cooled then mold into shapes. Once the shapes have cooled a little more then insert the popsicle stick. We divided the batch in half, with the other half we spread out into a 1/2 deep cookie sheet that has been well greased or sprayed with cooking spray (cover and let set overnight).
Ingredients (Gan-ache or melted chocolate):
3 cups of semi-sweet chocolate (chopped in fine pieces)
1 cup of heavy cream
Put the chocolate in a bowl, put the cream in a sauce pan and bring to a boil. Once the cream has come to a boil, pour over the chocolate and mix well.
Once the shapes have cooled completely dip in melted chocolate mixture and roll in your favorite cookies or candy bars. We used: oreos, 100 grand, milky way, snickers, 3 musketeers.
M. decided that it would be funny to make a 'Larry' & 'Bob' out of the treats. They did come out pretty cute.
Once the flat treats have set over night then cut out using cookie cutters. We used two different types of leafs, heart, bear, fish & turtle (thank you Karen). Then covered half of the shapes with chocolate and N. thought it would be creative to add 1 white chocolate chip to each one.
